The first part of class we got our test grades on the content part. I was very nervous to know what I got on it. When he called my name and hit that bell I know I scored. I don't get A's on tests all the time so I was pretty shocked on the outcome. I guess all the studying helped to. But on the other hand we continued are notes. One of the main topics we discussed today was life expectancy and how to figure out if more people are emigrating or immigrating into a country. A Fun fact The country chad has the lowest life expectancy with a whopping 49.81. A reason for this is because they do not have the recourses to live a comfortable life. Another thing we saw was women always out lived the men. this is because men take more risks and work in more laborious jobs and even dangerous jobs.

These are the notes that I took in class while Mr. Shick was out. Globalization-   is a force or process that involves the entire world and results in making something worldwide in scope. Globalization means that the scale of the world is shrinking—not literally in size, of course, but in the ability of a person, object, or idea to interact with a person, object, or idea in another place.  Even extremely isolated and sheltered people are at least aware of the existence of these important means of connection.

Today we started off class taking talking about, "thinking Globally, acting locally" I knew I heard that phrase before but when we were trying to describe. what it means, it just wouldn't come too mind. We discussed on this topic for little bit and coming up with good ideas. For an example, If each local community did a part then Globally it would all be done. An example that Mr. Shick said in class was most of the people in Harford County grow or buy local. This is because we have the land and the space to grow these types of food. In Chicago, almost everyone has to buy food from a grocery store because in the cities there are no where to grow food. Another topic we discussed was voting, Legally your not aloud to vote to the age of 18 but what if you could;d vote at the age of 16. Some people said it would be a good idea and some people disagreed. It would be a good idea cause we are well educated and all of the stuff of the government and how things work are fresh in ar

Today in class we were sent back to CIA.gov. Mr. Shick wanted us to go to the world Fact book and find instresting facts about a country. The whole class had to go around and share the fact they found. Some people had some cool facts like, like the United States is the number 1 Cocaine consumer. I was going to share that idea but someone beat me to it. My fact was the United States in the 18th country having the most obese people. With a whopping 35% of the adults a obese.

Today is class we had a unexpected pop quiz. It was VERRY hard. After finishing the quiz we started a new assignment. We went on Cia.gov. Mr. Shick told us that is a very reliable and well maintained website. We went to the World Fact book section and had all the facts of each country. Mr. Shick gave us a blank map and we had to label the first 25 countries 1-25 in order of there population. It was kinda fun seeing all the population of each country. The country with the less people has a gross population of 54 people. It was crazy seeing the size of china and India and major decrease in size to us.

Today in class we came in and finished our work from yesterday. Ryan, Nik, and I worked hard to finish to complete the work. The idea of doing the assignment was to see what states were democratic and republican in the years 2004, 2008, 2012. We characterized the states into regions. some of the states always leaned to one side but some differed every year. After the time he allowed us to finish the assignment. We all had a big group discussion, discussing our results and seeing if we all had the same results

Today is class we countinued on with our lesson. We learned about about a region which is am area of earth defined by one or more distinctive characteristics. We also talked about a culture land scape. This is the combination of both physical and human characteristics that are uniquely define places and areas. Some examples are like the people that live there and how they live with the things around them. Here in Maryland we have all the seasons. We can go crabbing and swimming in the summer and go tubing and skiing in the winter. That is our culture landscape. Finally we talked about types of regions. This is the destination that is larger than a point and smaller than the entire planet earth. Finally we went into a little group activity. There where three pictures of the years 2004, 2008, 2012 and what each state overall vote for that year election. We made lists of each state and labeled it democratic and republican.
